Baked Sweet Potato Wedges/Yam Slices

I highly recommend this recipe!!! I found one on but I used salt-free seasoning and added a little garlic powder, no salt. My daughter really loves them and I am making some again. I just bought 8 pieces of yams and sweet potatoes. 

The slicing takes time but it is a good exercise for me. I get to sweat at least­čśü 2 big yams or sweet potatoes is enough if you are slicing them in quarters then thin pieces. You can also slice 3 pieces of yams or sweet potatoes, in half lengthwise and make wedges. Bake in the oven at 400°F for 30-40 minutes.

Here are what you need:

3pcs Sweet Potatoes or Yams

1/3 cup olive oil

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp salt (i used salt-free seasoning, you may also use italian seasoning)

1 tbsp garlic powder (you may use rosemary)

1 tsp chili powder (optional) if you want a bit of spicy taste


1- Preheat oven at 400°F. Cut the potatoes lengthwise into quarters, then cut each quarter lengthwise in half again. This will make 8 wedges. You may also cut these crosswise in half to make smaller wedges.

2-In a bowl, combine  olive oil, salt and pepper and the remaining ingredients. Toss the wedges and mix. Make sure the wedges are evenly coated.

3-Arrange the wedges on an oven-safe tray. Bake for 30-40 minutes. They cook easily so don't burn them.

4-Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or ketchup.
