Marinated Mushrooms

This is my recipe for marinated mushrooms. I like it sweet and sour.


1 pound small fresh mushrooms
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1/3 cup white wine vinegar
1/3 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 tsp sugar
2 cloves garlic
1 small onion
1 tsp black pepper
1 ground red chili flakes


In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook, uncovered, for 6 minutes, stirring once. Cool to room temperature. Transfer to a large bowl; cover and refrigerate overnight.

Hey there - just stumbled onto your blog. Question for you - does the overnight refrigeration help the shrooms to marinate and improve flavor? I've never done it that way... Thanks!

regarding ur question, i haven't tried marinating it overnight in the fridge. It might improve the taste as well the texture...
